Registration
Participation in the ISM2016 Congress is open to all persons interested in the science and practice of mine surveying, mining and geotechnical engineering, geology, mineral evaluation and allied disciplines.
Please note that all persons intending to attend the Congress must register, including invited speakers, chairpersons and presenters. Please read the registration information before you complete the online form.

Student Registration
A student is defined as a holder of a student identification card from a recognised tertiary or secondary educational institution or international student card. Students must be studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate. Student registrants are entitled to the following:

- Program/Abstract book
- Catering: Morning and afternoon teas, Lunches
- Certificate of attendance

Accompanying Persons

Accompanying Persons are spouses/ partners of registrants who have registered as an Accompanying Person on a Delegate's Registration Form and paid the applicable fee.

This is a not to be missed those new and returning to Brisbane.
Registration confirmation
Your completed registration and successful payment will be automatically acknowledged via email with a confirmation of your requirements according to your registration form. Your registration will only be confirmed upon full payment of fees due.
Group registrations
The Group registration is offered when a single entity registers five (5) or more individuals. The Group registration is available via a hard copy form, by emailing the Congress Managers at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Name badge
Each member of the Congress will receive a name badge upon registration on site at the Congress. The badge will be your official pass and must be clearly visible at all times during the Congress to obtain entry to all sessions and to social functions. The Congress Managers expect appropriate behaviour from attendees and reserve the right to revoke the badge and privileges of anyone behaving in an inappropriate manner.
Certificate of Attendance
All delegates are entitled to receive a Certificate of Attendance, which will be issued Post Congress.
Public Transport
The ISM2016 Congress Organisers are arranging 3 day public transport passes for delegates. The go access pass gives you 3 days of unlimited travel anywhere in South East Queensland on all public transport travel modes (excluding Airtrain). Please indicate on the Registration form if you will require public transport go access pass whilst in Brisbane and you will receive this upon registering onsite at the Congress.
Private Touring, Private Functions, Hospitality Arrangements
Should you have any specialised group requirements for private touring, private functions, transportation or hospitality services other than those organised for the official program, please contact the Congress Managers who will be pleased to assist with arrangements.
It is requested that you advise the Congress Managers of any private /corporate functions that may be planned outside of the official program. This will assist in smooth planning of all official and other events during the Congress.

Credit Card Payments Online
Online Registration is preferred. Please visit our secure website ism2016.com/registrations to register and book your accommodation in 'real time'. Please note all online registrations require immediate payment by credit card.
Accepted credit cards: MasterCard, Visa and American Express. All transactions by credit card will appear on your statement as payment to 'Conference by Arinex'.
Cheque
All payments by cheque incur a $10 processing fee and will only be accepted up until 1 August 2016. Please download a copy of the registration form and mail the completed form with your cheque to the Congress Managers (address on the homepage). Cheques are to be made payable to the XVI International Mine Surveying Congress 2016 (ISM 2016). Your name and full address should be typed or printed clearly on the back of the cheque. Cheque payments from overseas must be a bank cheque in Australian Dollars drawn on an Australian Bank. No other currency will be accepted.
From 1 August 2016 all registrations and accommodation bookings must be submitted online with credit card details.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Congress Managers.
Registration Fees:
- Before Friday 10 June 2016 (3 months prior to the Congress) there will be an A$150.00 cancellation fee.
- Before Monday 8 August 2016 cancellations will receive a 50% refund of fees payable.
- On and after Monday 8 August 2016 there will be no refund.
Accommodation
A minimum of one night's deposit must be paid or credit card details given at time of booking to guarantee reservation.
One nights deposit is non-refundable on and after Monday 8 August.
Social Function Fees
Payments are non-refundable at Monday 8 August 2016.
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that at the time you register for the Congress and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your choice. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Congress, or through cancellation of the Congress, loss of international/domestic air fares through cancellation for any reason, loss of tour monies through cancellation for any reason including airline or related services strikes within Australia, failure to utilise tours or pre booked arrangements due to airline delay, Force Majeure or any other reason, medical expenses (including sickness and accident cover), loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Congress Managers cannot take any responsibility for any participant failing to arrange their own insurance. This insurance is to be purchased in your country of origin.
Private Functions
It is requested that you advise the Congress Managers of any private /corporate functions that might be planned outside of the official program. The Congress Managers would be pleased to assist with arrangements for any of these events.
